Dr. Jeff Howard, trained social psychologist, has developed a comprehensive set of field-tested training programs, consulting services and materials for adults and youth. He is also the founder of J. Howard and Associates, a corporate training and consulting firm that is part of the Novations Group, Inc. Dr. Howard holds an A.B. from Harvard College and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Harvard University.

Sanford "Sandy" Gilmore joined the staff of the Efficacy Institute as one of its first full-time trainers in 1990, and has consulted with educators and community leaders to implement Efficacy across the country. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston with a B.A. in Psychology and Human Services, Sandy formerly worked in the field of clinical psychology and social work. He has additionally designed and directed programs in human development for the non-profit community agency, Freedom House, Inc. in Boston.

Barbara M. Logan served as the Vice President of the Efficacy Institute. After ten years of service in roles such as Director of School Services and Training and Lead Trainer, Ms. Logan has assumed a broader leadership role within the organization. Her dedication to public education began more than 17 years ago in Milwaukee Public Schools where she served children in elementary and K-8 schools in a myriad of roles, including administrator, classroom teacher, technology teacher and implementer of school programs. Her capacity is bolstered by her undergraduate degree in Education and Psychology, Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, graduate coursework in Administrative Leadership and Counseling, and her PhD candidacy (expected in 2014).

Linda Bacon has been a staff member of the Efficacy Institute for over 20 years. Her primary role is to oversee the finances of the organization where she manages all the operations accounting and finance functions. In addition to her roles in finance, she is also responsible for meeting the human resource needs and activities of the organization through employee benefit administration. Linda holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Suffolk University with a concentration in Accounting.

Vivian Teyssedou joined the Efficacy Institute in 1998 and was Executive Assistant to the President for 12 years. In her current position as Client Services Manager, she is the initial contact with clients, and consults with them to determine the appropriate services for their needs. Vivian also manages trainer deployment, program scheduling and logistics.

With over thirty-five years experience, Nancy Guzman is recognized nationally as a leader in school turnaround. She successfully led school improvement efforts in three low-performing Title 1 schools that were recognized at the state and national levels as models for true school transformation. Nancy’s success with school turnaround was featured on the Today Show and NBC Nightly News, and U.S Secretary of Education, Arnie Duncan, visited her school to discuss strategies for school improvement. She has presented at numerous national conferences including Yale University Education Symposium, National Association of Elementary School Principals, and National Title 1 Conference.

Dr. Sara Olivia Garcia is an independent education consultant with over forty years of experience in the field of education. In addition to serving as an Efficacy trainer, Sara has helped to form grass roots organizations, served on school committees, studied literacy in Cuba, consulted parents of children with autism, and developed programs for Latino migrant workers in Brewster, New York. She holds an M.Ed. from the School of Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding University.
